I am 15 years old and have been diagnosed with endometriosis which was found on my pelvic wall and was lasered off. I had my laparoscopy on 17/12/13 and today I have come on my period and it feels exactly the same as it was before the laparoscopy. My legs feel weak and my lower abdomen is in pain and I feel a sudden loss of energy. I am wondering whether this is normal for the first period as I am feeling very worried?

Is it normal for my first period to be bad again after laparoscopy?
Although if you are worried it's always a good idea to speak to your Dr, most women who have had a lap tend to find the first few periods after the op very sore. The reason being that your insides are trying to heal and the blood irritates the inside wounds. My first period was excruciating but by the second one the pain had gone down a lot. I hope you feel better soon xx

The first period after a lap is usually always bad, it has something to do with the ovaries, especially if they were lazered around that area. If you are still worried or the pain hasn't gone or gets worse then consult your GP. Otherwise, nothing to worry about just a bit of a nuisance. I have had 2 laps, I hope you feel better soon x
