Hi there, just wondered how long it took everyone to recover. I had a cyst removed and patches of endo and I'm feeling very sore all over, managing to get to the bathroom but that's about it! I've had abdominal and pelvic pains for the last few months and I'm hoping the endo is the cause of this!

Hi there, it depends on the person. For me it took a month to get back to work and atleast two months to feel sort of ok, saying that some women get bet a lot quicker. Your body is telling you to rest and tske it easy so listen to it. I personally couldn't stop sleeping at all so there was no way i could work. Take it easy and rest xx
I slept for three days, and then i could start moving around the house started to try and play with my son again. And after a week i was back to my full routine its been a month since my op and still have the pain i had before the op. So popping pain meds as often as i can every day. I don't get a break from that pain, but my op pain went after day 4
Took me 5 months before i was op pain free and able to list a toddler without hurtinjg myself. Different procedures take different lengths of time to recover from.
Certainly not likely to be any less than 8 weeks.
The first fortnight are the worst by far. I would strongly advise to keep active. potter round the house as much as you can manage too. Keeps DVT at bay, keeps the bowels moving too. Drink plenty of water - very good for healing and forcing you to get up and go to the loo.
The pain from trapped gas is the worst element of post op pain for most of us and that takes a few days to disperse, so fart or belch out that gas whenever you can manage it..again moving around often will help this process and that alone once gone, will be a big relief from discomfort. They pump a lot of gas in to the tummy cavity in order to do these ops and some of it gets trapped and doesn't escape through the holes when you are deflated and glued and stitched up.
Hey,
It took me just a couple of weeks to be back at work. Taking the stairs and Diet definitely remained an issue for long. Generally the surgery pain completely goes off in a week. But I had trouble using the loo and Yes , the trapped gas cuz of the laprascopy causes a lot of discomfort for a few days.
Please try and walk around, Maintain a healthy diet and some light form of exercise is always recommended.
You mentioned that its been few months after surgery and the pain persists. I strongly suggest you consider meeting your doctor asap.
Hope you get well soon.
God Bless!!
Take care
