Cystic laparoscopic surgery: Hi ladies, i'm... - Endometriosis UK
Cystic laparoscopic surgery
any surgery - not just gynae surgery can mess up your cycle for anyhwere up to 2 years according to my GP, so nothing to worry about. It is normal for things to go a bit haywire period timing wise. I had a non gynae op when I was 32 and my periods were never the same after that. before the op 28 days like clockwork, afterwards there was no pattern whatsoever.
It is far too soon after surgery to have any idea what the impact of the op is on your cycle, I know it's a worry every day when will the darned period arrive- but try and enjoy every day without one. It will happen, but don't be surprised if you skip one or have a really heavy long lasting one either when it does turn up.
Hey I too underwent a laprascopy to get rid of a dermoid cyst on my right ovary. Its been 2 months and I havent got my periods yet! I was anxious too, but my doctor told me that there is nothing to worry about. A long delay or very heavy cycles is expected after a gynae surgery.
So dont let this get to you too much. Relax
