Hi ladies,
I have endometriosis and had my first laparoscopy last year. Since the op and as a result of the constipation afterwards I have suffered with anal fissures for a whole year which has been agonising. Recently all the pain I had since before my lap has started again (lower back pain, leg ache, stabbing pains down my leg, lower back, groin, shivers down my leg). I went to the doctors and he was useless and told me to take the pill as well as having the mirena coil, which didn't seem right and I refused to do, however he did refer me to a specialist about the fissure. The specialist was great, he sent me for a pelvic and abdominal ultrasound and I had a sigmoidoscopy and botox in the fissures to treat them. After the surgery he told me my bowel was really healthy (thank goodness) but the ultrasound showed a cyst that he suspects is linked to the endometriosis. I was still a bit groggy from the anaesthetic and didn't ask anything else. Is this anything I should be worried about? Do I go back to the doctors now and asked to be referred to a gynaecologist or do I wait for this surgeon to write to my doctor? Has anybody had a similar experience? It really feels like one thing after another at the moment. I would really love a day when nothing is wrong and I feel well. Thanks ladies. xx
