Anybody else have bad back from endo & work as a carer?
I wasn't sure if you are an endo or/and adhesion sufferer? If so may be nerve pain from adhesions (sticky scar tissue) which could possibly have adhered to another organ like your bowel, bladder for example and is being pulled when you bend or lift. The base of the spine is a nerve centre and sometimes although it may appear it is a back problem it might be related to referred pain from the effects of endo or adhesions or another undiscovered problem for example, during investigations for endo and adhesions which I do have! they discovered Diverculitis Disease, small Hernia and prolapse and later right hip arthritis. It is so hard to pin point the source of the pain. Go back to your Gp and try and get a referral to a specialist.
I am a bank carer and because of what I believe is endo I cant physically walk by the end of a shift, I spend the day after totally wiped out and in agony, because of this I havent worked for nearly 7 weeks and its making things very dificult for me, as a bank carer I dont get paid sick so currently money is very low! I take my hot water bottle woth me and have made my manager aware of my situation so they know I need to sit down for a few mins sometimes, altho it it cant always be done, I just say when im feeling bad and they usually accomodate it but putting me on to assisted feeding which is sat down, and activites where they are sat down. So make sure your enployer is aware of wht you are suffering from and that may help. xxx
I think even if I made my manager aware of my problem he wouldn't do much, but I have a supervision with him coming up so may mention it. I got into bed this morning after my nightshift and couldn't move after I had laid down. Its not good really is it. X
