Yes yes yes - I've spent over 2 months trying to get doctors to listen to me (including my private specialist!) then saw a different specialist this week who agreed that if you have a combined hrt (oestrogen and progesterone) you will bleed each month which is why when you're on the injections you should only be given hrt which is oestrogen only otherwise it undoes the effect of the injections. I'm not sure which hrt you are on but if its got progesterone in it you will bleed and if your doctors are anything like mine you may have to push for them to agree! x

It makes sense what you said. I am so fed up with it all. My gyno said he wont give me injections long term unless I take HRT because I am 42yrs. I feel I don't have much of a choice.

Me too, I'm only 29, the hrt is mainly because the injections are only licensed for endo for 6 mths so to stay on them longer doctors make us have the hrt, I'm just so glad they've said I can skip it got the last 6 weeks although the mega achey joints have come back in 5 days of being off the hrt!

HRT does make you bleed, even when you have menopaused. HRT gives you back periods, unless you have had a hysterectomy that is. So it also feeds the endo to bleed too.

Just the same as having one ovary left working. You do need these hormones to have a healthier heart and to keep whats left of your bones from crumbling away.

this is why so many women who have menopaused or have a bad experience menopausing (whether they have endo or not) then go on HRT to continue to have a monthly cycle.

Its crazy eh, why would us woman want a monthly cycle! I was enjoying pain & period free there before I started the HRT.

oh i don't think they want to have a monthly bleed aspect but they sure didn;t like the menopause effects on their bodies. hot flashes.cold sweats, saggy skin, bad sleep etc or they are at very high risk of heart attacks

or worse osteoperosis and crumbling spine and pelvis etc and ending up stooped right over.

i think for the damage that not having HRT can do, it is for many women well worth having and putting up with the bleed side effects or HRT to stave off all the other nasty ones of not having had HRT. My mum sailed through menopause and is perfectly okay bones wise in ther 70s, i had the worst tie of my life on artificial menopause (GnRH drugs) and did not have HRT, so when i finally do menopause the natural way (which won't be too far away now) I have no idea whether i will do HRT or not. My Granny was once quite tall but by the tie i knew her she was hunched back and stooped right over in her late 60s through to her mid 80s.

I sure wouldn't want that.

My mum is the same, in her early 70s. She went through early menopause with no HRT. She is great for her age. Just the usual aches and pains that most people get at that age. Although she did have breast cancer when she was 65, thankfully she had the 5yr all clear last year.
