I am in the GNRH gang!!

I have now been put on GNRH with add back, not sure which one as forgot to ask, doh, so just looking for as much of your experiences as possible.

It's mainly to see if it will stop my constant, chronic, debilitating lower back pain in order to confirm whether or not it is Endo related.

Would love to hear from you, thank you x

Hi Amb

Welcome to the GNRH gang. I love the title of your post!

I am using the GNRH called Prostap and slightly unusually I am taking it after a hyst as I still have endo type pains. It works well for me as it keeps the awful symptoms at bay and helps me function normally again.

Before I had my hyst in 2011 I had 8 months worth of Prostap to see what effect it had on my endo. I felt like a new woman and my consultant couldnt believe I was the same patient. It was great, I only wished I had tried it earlier but I didnt like the sound of the injections. Instead I tried medication, lots of surgery and the Mirena coil before accepting Prostap.

I hope you have good results too and if you need any advice please feel free to ask on the boards!

I'm in the gang too, just had my first zoladex on Wednesday. I'm not having HRT though, but I'm only one them for 3 months.

How are you finding this? I'm considering going on it for 3 months to shrink fibroids but I'm nervious about the side effects and long term side effects? What has been your experience?

Me too :) 7 weeks in to my first decapeptyl injection (no add back) First 3 weeks were awful (flare!) but the last 4 weeks have been the best I've felt in 10 years!! No pain :D Finding the hot flushes & night sweats awful (rather them than the pain tho!!) but they're the only side effects so far. Hope all goes well for you too.

Claire.

Hey, how soon into the first 3 weeks did you start to feel worse? I had my first injection on Wednesday and haven't noticed anything yet. Worried about when it's going to hit! x

Hi, felt weird (couldn't put my finger on what!) for the 1st 3-4 days then the flare hit by the end of the 1st week - was quite bad but have had worse!! By the end of week 3 I was pain free. No pain meds since :) Fingers crossed for you.
