did any of you gain weight or maintain with zolodex?
I didn't gain that much, a few pounds, but to be honest it was the very least of my concerns on that drug. Since stopping my weight has fluctuated a little bit, but since the mirena stopped working and my periods returned and so too the monthly bloat..my weight has shot up in just a few weeks. Nearly a stone.
I dare say it will drop back when I get a replacement mirena installed and stop the periods again, at least I hope so.
I wouldn't bother battling the bulge while on zoladex. It's much more important to eat a healthy balanced diet but cut back on portion sizes if you are not up to as much daily activity as you were before. Don't beat yourself up about the weight gain, the zoladex is tough enough to cope with emotionally and physically without adding to the stress with a diet or exercise regime.
Wait till you stop which is only a few weeks away, then hopefully you will feel much better and the periods won't return right away giving you perhaps a few months of freedom from periods and their consequences and the pain for a while.
I gained weight on Zolodex, but I'd had a c-section incision, due to the surgeon finding severe endo, I ended up with the right ovary and fallopian tube removed, my left ovary reconstructed and invasive surgery to remove the endo off my bowel and bladder and a few other places, so for the first 3 months I was on it, I was recovering and not allowed to do much, so it may have been due to that factor too, I was on it for a total of 6 months, 1 injection every 28 days.
I have also found it hard to lose the weight since coming off it nearly a year ago
