insect bite

i got bitten by some insect at the weekend and it has come up in a lump and the pain is unbearable i tried everything from putting an ice pack on it and taking antibiotics but aint reducing the pain one bit. can anyone give me some advice please

I know what you mean, i started getting the same but just what looks like little bites, sometimes i get ones a bit bigger and i looked up Carpet Beetles the other day and what the spot or welts look like and they can just look like these weird spots around the body, some people get it real bad if they had a bad carpet beetle infestation.

Our house only gets a couple though, it's actually the hairs of the beetles that people can be really allergic to which causes a bite like rash or spots, i mean over time all humans can become allergic but some people are allergic more than others just like with other things. The welts can be really big, severly painful or really itchy though so id look into that and see if they look the similar to the bite like lump, it's worth mentioning really as a lot of people are allergic to them. Try cold petrolium jelly, maybe put some in an ice cube tray, freeze it and then rub it around it and keep doing that for a couple weeks, it really helps with all sorts of bites, rashes and skin dryness.
