Hayfever, but not quite.

I have a really runny nose, and I sneeze nearly every day in the summer. This also sometimes happens in the winter, because my nose freezes up, but i'm not sure. I very rarely have itchy eyes, the runny nose and sneezing are the only symptoms I have at the moment. What is this? And how can I treat it or at least halt it temporarily?

it could be allergic Rhinitis I have it all year round... its basically all year round hayfever which means you get it all the time no matter what the weather... I take cetirizine every day for it... some days are worse than others.. and sometimes I have no symptoms at all... but now I have no sense of smell because of it which sucks!....I would ask your doctor.. he may prescribe cetirizine too for you....I also take a nasal spray which helps for a bit too...

I have the same, there are ups and downs, but basically it's all year round. Always wondering where it could come from. Now I think I have a clue.

When I came home from my holidays last week, and sat an my bed to take my shoes off, I sneezed 5 times or so (had not been sneezing when travelling). I am almost sure now that I have an allergy to dust-mites (I must admit that in my bedroom there is a lot of places where dust can set in, and there IS actually a lot of dust). Getting worse when cleaning dust a.s.o., worse when in bed etc.

Have you checked out the possibility ? (symptoms are a lot like hayfever, which I also have)

I find a good way to combat hayfever is to build up your immunity by eating honey made in the area where you live. Not all honeys are the same. I tried it and it worked for me. A teaspoon everyday. Hope this helps you too

I would consider mold, dust mites and carpet beetles (you can be really allergic to the hairs off carpet beetles), i have always had an allergy to mold, when i was a kid it gave me asthma, now i sneeze a couple times a day, about a year after moving back down to England my eyes turned red all around the outsides, i knew it was some kind of allergy conjuctivitus but i just started added 2 and 2 together the past week because my eyes also start burning when i'm cleaning, we last lots of mold in our house, same for lots of home heres in England which isn't great really... i also have a sudden allergy to Carpet Beetles and i'm probs allergic to Dust Mites too, so consider all these as it's the most likely things causing your allergic response.
