Tennis Elbow surgery

Hi

I've been struggling with tennis elbow for years with no improvement. I also have some ulnar nerve irritation which the doctor think could be caused by my elbow hyperextending. I've no entrapment so they've said there's no surgical fix for the ulnar nerve but, after trying everything else, I'm getting surgery for my tennis elbow. I haven't really had a chance to talk to the surgeon so I'm not really sure what to expect as far as recovery goes. I'm looking for advice from anyone who's had the surgery. What was your recovery like? How long did it take? How much help did you need? Anything you wish you'd known to plan for with recovery before hand?

Any tips on how to manage with recovery from surgery are welcome.
