Best splints to buy?

Hi can anyone recommend some splints that are reasonably priced and effective? I need them for ankles, feet, wrists and knees. I do have some from the NHS but they totally immobilise the area and they are too restrictive. I've seen knee splints with springs at each side but I don't want to spend a fortune on splints that don't help.

Any advice is appreciated

I just buy support bandaging from different physio supply companies online such as Physioroom. My main problem at the moment is my kneecap which is popping out frequently, and only popping back with some encouragement. But my knee is massive (super sized in fact - it was very big when I was thin and now I am not thin) so none of the usual knee stuff fits.

I have the exact same issue, had one kneecap realigned when o was 7 but now it's starting to move and the other is a nightmare! Absolutely massive and just popping out all the time, the old Physio supports with the hole in for the patella are useless I was thinking along the lines of a knee brace that's adjustable? But there a lot of money and no doubt our Physio won't have them due to cost. I'm using crepe bandages and micropore at the moment but it's not great.

Thanks for replying, great user name by the way 😁It's also my youngest name

If you're in the uk, get your GP to refer you to orthotics and occupational therapy. They'll advice which are best!

Hello, i was recommended a "Push" knee brace by Christine Tonks and she showed me it in a catalogue. Whereas it cost £115 in NHS catalogue I purchased it from online Physio Warehouse for £89 it is very sturdy for my unstable knee and comfortable despite having ,lots of fluid round my knee at all times. It removes the pain completely. I wear it over leggings and it is really comfortable. For ankle i got a really good one from Aldi!!! With foam around both ankle bones. Very good.

Hi thanks for this information, there's so many to choose from and I feel the Physio just want to give me the cheapest option every time. I understand the NHS are really stretched but it's false economy, the less effective the splint the more times I will be in accident & emergency.
