Tingling in legs

I have EDS type III and for the last 12 months or so I have been experiencing tingling (like pins and needles) in my legs from thigh to ankle! It comes and goes and can be quite uncomfortable. Anyone else experience this? Any info/ advice would be helpful :)

Hi, this can be quite common (i have EDS too - and from time to time get this totally out of the blue. It's an odd sensation). I was told by my physio that it is to do with 'abnormal' pain signals - which are heightened with EDS and can include tingling/shivering sensations not just 'pain' as we'd normally describe it.

That being said, it's possible that you've slipped a disc in your back. That can cause sciatica - normally down the back/side of your leg thigh to ankle, or buttocks downwards, but equally can be at the front depending where/what nerve is affected.

Have you spoken to your doctor/physio about it? Do you get any loss of function in Your foot/other area of the body with it? Rachel.x

I get phases of tingling/pins and needles in my hands/fingers and in my feet and toes. It lasts on and off from weeks to months. The first phase of these worried me (I was not diagnosed EDS then) so I went to the Dr and was put on a referral list to a neurologist, but was told that in my area there was a 12 month waiting list!. Many months later I got a letter asking if I still needed the appointment, but by then the tingling had finished, with no numbness left behind, so I said I didn't need an appointment. It happened fairly recently too - a month of random tingling. I don't bother the GPs with it now (my GPs are exceptionally busy and unhelpful and difficult to see), although I would recommend you mention it to your GP.
