SUPERBUGS

Unfortunately the overuse of pharmaceutical antibiotics have created superbugs and

they are becoming increasingly resistant to all antibiotics.

Potentially there is a danger that it could lead to the extinction of the human race.

It would need massive funding for new generation antibiotics and it may not be

successful.

It should be recognised that bacteria have thousands of millions of years of

evolutionary experience.

The WHO have called for a ban of antibiotics for animals and severe restrictions

for humans.

The use of natural antibiotics should be considered.

Herbs have developed resistance against bacteria over thousands of millions

of years and are extremely sophisticated.

  • A few antibiotics may still be effective against the acute stages of recently discovered infections such as lyme disease, [but not the chronic stage}, but research should be done urgently on natural antibiotics.
