Kidney damage from pressure

Hi again friends,

I was wondering if any of you know if you can in some way damage your kidneys by outside pressure. Yesterday I was leaning against a railing and had the railing directly against my kidney area and felt a sharp pain. Is it possible to damage the kidneys that way or is there muscles etc in the way?

Hope everyone are doing well

Linnea

Hello Linnea

Thank you for your message. I am sorry to hear that you had a sharp pain yesterday.

Your kidneys are protected by body structures like muscles as you say. If you were gently leaning it would be unlikely to damage the kidneys.

You may want to see your GP or doctor and explain how things feel and they can assess the situation.

The topics and pinned posts might also have more information for you.

Take care and let us know how you are.

Best wishes
