Bunionectomy

I have had an asymptomatic bunion for many years. This year after being diagnosed with foot dystonia my bunion has gotten worse and painful. I consulted a podiatrist who recommended Bunionectomy with fusion in one or two joints. I would like to hear from someone withe the same situation.

I started with second and third toe dystonia. Then very quickly, within six months I developed a bunion. Because of the way I'm walking and, I believe my orthotic, my big toe developed a large callous that is often painful. This has impaired my lifestyle because my foot is always in some kind of pain. I've had Parkinson's for four years and I have a minimum of symptoms. I don't think I really have on and off periods.

I take as azilect, a nuepro patch, 3 mg and Sinemet 4x a day. Could any of these be the cause of the dystonia? Am I taking too much or not taking enough. Love to hear your thoughts. I'm contemplating surgery on my foot to straighten the bunion and fuse the toes. But I've heard that the dystonia can go other places?? Help! Really hard to exercise when your feet hurt to walk.

Your toes curl under? I get Botox injection every 3 months and it has helped with the curling of the toes.

Yes I have tried Botox 3 times. Didn't help. Toes curl and bunion developed after that. I also take amatadine. I'm wondering if the Neupro patch is accelerating the condition or the Sinemet or the azilect?! I also need to eventually have both knees done, total knee replacements, bone on bone. I'm not so thrilled to be thinking about all the time out of commission. I love to golf and I'm afraid of being inactive. However, all this pain has caused me not to be as active as I want.
