hi, can anyone help me, how should I notify my university I have a problem of dyslexia? who can i find some official paper to give my uni. NHS have somethings.

If you look on the uni website there will be a section called something similar to 'student support', you then fill out their paperwork and send them a copy of your dyslexia report

Yes you got get financial support from the government website as well. But the uni should be able to help you with that. The uni apply form should have a section for additional needs.

I made an appointment to speak to the disabilities support officer - this is the person who normally works with dyslexic students. I needed a face to face meeting and help to complete forms. They were very supportive.

Hi don't worry about telling the university you need to each university in uk has a disability office, you need to go there they will help you get what you need don't be a afraid .I have been through this myself you are legally classed as having a disability the university has to assess your needs by law this comes under the disability ACT also you can get extensions on your modules if you have to sit an exam you may be given extra time and also a reader and scribe due to your dyslexia . but you must go to the disability office before your course starts ring the university today and ask for the number of the disability department, just because the universities are closed for courses somebody may be there to help you . The sooner you do this the better it will be for you .I know it is hard and it may be one of the hardest things you have to do like I said I've been through this myself .

All the above advice is spot on. It's very important that you get the right support as that will help you to have a much happier time at uni. I did my degree all by myself - I had no idea I was dyslexic, just thought I was a bit thick! I had to work much harder than my peers and exams were very hard indeed. I wish I'd had support it would have made me much more confident. Good luck -keep us posted.

hi has I said before don't worry about telling the university you need to ring university don't worry about the paper work they will do it all for you they have to assess you so they can assess your needs I had no paper work when I went to university in Hull they assessed me and helped get what I needed so stop worrying about the paper work you need to ring then on Monday and ask for the number of the disability department, just because the universities are closed for courses somebody may be there to help you . The sooner you do this the better it will be for you .I know it is hard and it may be one of the hardest things you have to do like I said I've been through this myself . I know this is going to sound hard but you are wasting time because it take's time for the university to put thing's in place because I didn't get my assesses don before by course started my course was for 3 years and I didn't have any help for about a year it was hard and I don't want you to be where I was . if I can stop any one going through what I did please go and get the help you need . over the years I have learnt my disability rights and what needs to be put in place for me now when I attend courses you need to stand up and start asking for your rights . don't be afraid to tell people you're dyslexic be proud. I tell people all the time now the first time is hard but the more you do it the easier it becomes . I am proud of being dyslexic and proud of what I have achieved . I all so have a daughter who has dyslexia I always tell her to be proud of who she is and I make sure that things are put in place at school and that the teachers understand about her disability because some teachers don't I hope this helps you
