Since I was diagnosed with dyslexia at the end of my first year at university. I feel like my memory has got worse. I was wondering if anyone has any idea of how I can improve this. It would be very appreciated .

Thanks in advance .

Errr I dont know if this helps but working on the principal your brain is a muscle and needs to workout, I do crosswords, helps with my spelling.

There are a trillion versions of remember, remember with some beautiful cards.

A million memory aps.

Learn something new and finally check what they say are memory aids for Dyslexics. Im pretty sure stuff like learning a new language or skill is up there.

So as with other muscles you build up strength in an indirect way.

One last thing to note EVERYONE even non dyslexics has memory lapses and forgetfulness times, we just forget that..lol.

Oh and I think unlike others we forget when we are stressed, it aggravates the issue.

Hope that helps

Lists. Shopping lists. Things to do lists. Things to remember lists. I have them all over my desk. I know Henry Winkler made a joke about lists, so apparently I'm not alone.

Can you get a disabled student allowance (DSA) assessment? This is possible for students who have dyslexia and the assessment can provide things like laptops, book allowance and money towards paying someone to help or mentor you. We have specialist dyslexia tutors at my university. Contact the university disability support service for more details. They can be paid via DSA money.

2 books my DSA assessment provided were by Stella Cotterell;

and

amazon.co.uk/Skills-Success...

i got a dictaphone provided on my DSA which i can plug into my laptop and with a program match up the verbal notes with the lecture slides and my note takers notes.

i also have mind mapping software on my laptop to help me plan essays and other work.
