Guys I need some help

Hi. I don't post often.

At Slimmers World, I lost near 4 stone on my own which is amazing and I'm very pleased. Now, I feel fat, bloated & so very, very tired. My iron level is 6 and I can't cope with iron tablets. I just finished taking b12 injections. All I want to do is sleep & eat, really eat. This is how I feel. My insulation are best levels since I was diagnosed, from 40 slow action, now only on 16/18 long lasting & a shot of quick lasting with meals. I'm a non-meat eater -- for over 35 years, health reasons, I guess. I am lost and have a wedding. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Hello V, Well done you ! Do you keep hydrated ? It is very important for your body. Getting out in the fresh air is also good for you, A walk in the park or seafront. Good luck & keep at it .

Hobieone - am diabetic type 2, and have had problems with bloating and discomfort like

V. She went on a diet and lost a lot of weight, but her iron is only 6 level. Do you think she might have celiac disease undiagnosed, as it is unusual to get these symptoms. Celiac sufferers find it difficult to absorb iron due colon problems. As you know diabetes might be linked to several other autoimmune disease, such as celiac or thyroid, where gluten intolerance might show, and be linked to digestive problems.

The trouble with bowel problems is that exercise though good for you can be uncomfortable and be totally exhausting. If she has iron deficiency anaemia, effort and heart can be affected with such low energy she might not be able to cope, unless she has

another medical referral. I'd like to know if you have encountered other folk with several autoimmune diseases with diabetes, as I can see you have experience in diabetes management. Thanking you for information.

Have you checked out the Gluten Free Guerrillas group also on HU?

What has the doctor said?

in reply to Activity2004

Thank you for referring me to this site. I thought I had a gluten allergy but on a test which was done at chemist linked to NHS I found I did not have a gluten allergy but had a multigrain allergy wheat rye and barley amongst others such as dairy eggs maize cornflour rice. I also have diabetes type 2 and struggled to get my glucose levels down. When I removed these grains my digestion and blood sugar went down to normal levels after over 21 years. I had bad IBS and bloating due to stress and hidden diet triggers which when removed have shown a great improvement.

You are welcome! Glad to hear that it’s going to come in handy for you. How was your blood sugar today?

in reply to Activity2004

I have not tested my blood sugar for several weeks as it was clear when tested at the surgery. Having the facility to test blood sugar levels is very useful as it stops me going off the rails. It is a shame that newcomers with recent diagnosed diabetes are not given glucose meters and testing kits any more.

In the USA, if you go to a doctor and they tell you that you're diabetic, they write a prescription for medication, testing equipment and needles for insulin shots. You have a choice to either have the doctor fax over the prescription or you get a paper copy and give it to the pharmacy to fill and you get everything for whatever the insurance company says you have to pay. Most diabetic supplies are free, but it depends on which company you have.
