So, today is Thursday. The day started out not so great. Before heading to my job this morning, things at home were going okay. The not so great part started when I had gotten inside my Senior Center for the day..... Around 9:15 am, the sensor for the DEXCOM stopped reporting the numbers. This wasn't good, but I was use to having that type of thing happen on and off. The bad part afterwards is coming up. When I had decided to look at the receiver, I saw that there was the horrible hour glass being shown at the top of the screen's corner. I had a feeling this wasn't a good sign. Turned out, I was right (I hate being right about things like this!). It so happens, after the horrible hour glass was showing, it went away and the three question marks took its place for another few minutes. After the question marks were there, I had put the receiver back into my pocket thinking that there wasn't anything else I could do about the situation at the time. My parents texted me on my phone asking if I had any data. Said that there wasn't any and then I ended up calling them a few minutes later because while in my pocket, I got a vibration. The vibration was alerting me that the sensor had failed on its own! It's great to have some great coworkers that can let a person use a phone at the last minute and say to someone on the other end that they need to bring two sensors in case the next one fails during warm up time. So, while at work for 5 hours, I had no idea what was going on unless I did a test every so often. Lucky me, when I tested at lunch time, it wasn't low (I can't feel lows).
De este modo, hoy es el jueves. El día comenzó no tan grande. Antes de dirigirse a mi trabajo esta mañana, las cosas en casa iban bien. El no por tanto la gran parte comenzó cuando me había puesto dentro de mi Centro Mayor para el día..... A eso de las 9:15, el sensor para el DEXCOM dejó de relatar los números. Esto no estaba bien, pero era el uso a tener ese tipo de la cosa se encuentran y lejos. La parte mala después sube. Cuando había decidido mirar el receptor, vi que había cristal de la hora horrible mostrado en lo alto de la esquina de la pantalla. Tenía un sentimiento que esto no era un signo bueno. Resultado, tenía razón (¡lamento tener razón sobre cosas como esto!). Así pasa, después de que el cristal de la hora horrible mostraba, se marchó y los tres signos de interrogación tomaron su lugar para el otro pocos minutos. Después de que los signos de interrogación estaban allí, había aplazado el receptor en mi bolsillo creyendo que no había algo más que podría hacer sobre la situación entonces. Mis padres texted mí por mi teléfono que pregunta si tenía algunos datos. Dijo que no había ninguno y luego terminé por llamarlos unos minutos más tarde porque mientras en mi bolsillo, conseguí una vibración. ¡La vibración me alertaba que el sensor había fallado solo! Es estupendo tener algunos grandes compañeros de trabajo que pueden dejar a una persona usar un teléfono en el último momento y decir a alguien durante el otro final que tienen que traer dos sensores por si el próximo falle durante calientan el tiempo. De este modo, mientras en el trabajo durante 5 horas, no tuve ni idea qué continuaba a menos que hiciera una prueba cada tan a menudo. Afortunado mí, cuando probé en la hora de la comida, no era bajo (no puedo sentir mugidos).
Around 2:45 pm, my Mom came to the center and picked me up for the day (I can't drive and she was going to take me to my Endocrinology appointment). Before we left the center, I had went to the restroom and changed the sensor. Once that was taken care of, it was time to head to the car and call DEXCOM for a free and new replacement to be sent to the house. This didn't take too long, but I don't like calling so much for requests of new sensors every few weeks (especially so soon). I guess, it's a good thing I have DEXCOM's Tech Support number saved to my Contact's List for the cellphone.
A eso de las 14:45, mi mamá vino al centro y me recogió para el día (no puedo conducir e iba a tomarme a mi cita de la Endocrinología). Antes de que dejáramos el centro, tenía fue a los servicios y cambió el sensor. Una vez que esto se tuvo cuidado de, era tiempo de dirigirse al coche y llamar DEXCOM para un reemplazo libre y nuevo para enviarse a la casa. Esto no tomó demasiado mucho tiempo, pero no me gusta llamar tanto para solicitudes de nuevos sensores cada pocas semanas (sobre todo tan pronto). Adivino, es una cosa buena tengo el número de Apoyo de la Tecnología del DEXCOM guardado a la Lista de mi Contacto para el teléfono celular.
During my doctor's appointment, I had told my doctor what happened. I had also given him a print out of the graphs from the DEXCOM's receiver. He noticed that the numbers tend to drop on the DEXCOM mostly in the 2-3 am hours each night and then starts to go up by the time I have to get up for the busy day.
Durante la cita de mi doctor, había dicho a mi doctor lo que pasó. También le había dado una letra de los gráficos del receptor del DEXCOM. Notó que los números tienden a caerse en el DEXCOM generalmente en los 2-3 son horas cada noche y luego comienza a subir cuando tengo que despertar para el día ocupado.
Along with talking about the DEXCOM, my doctor told me that my A1c had gone down! It is now 9.2. It had been in the 10.3 range before, so this is really good. I'm hoping for a lot lower reading in the next 3 or 4 months to come.
