I am not getting proper sleep and some continuous noise in the ear. My Diabetes and BP are under control. Hba1c is 7.8. What could be the problem?

Hi and welcome to the group, graj123 .

Have you seen your doctor about the ear issues? Did the doctor test to see if you have earwax or an ear infection? Recently, I had an ear infection and it made issues when I was trying to sleep the entire night.

are you taking metformin? long term use of metformin can affect absorption of B12 - symptoms overlap considerably with those of diabetes so it is easy for it to go unnoticed

to add to the problems the test for B12 deficiency isn't a gold standard test and will miss 25% of people who are B12 deficient if used as a single measure. Many medics mistakenly believe that if you are B12 deficient you will have macrocytosis - larger rounder red blood cells - but this symptom also isn't present in 25% of people presenting with B12 deficiency.

Please take a look at the PAS forum on HU if you need support getting your GP to investigate the possibility of B12 deficiency.
