Docetaxel Failing
The rise in PSA together with some niggly groin pain leads me to suspect that
docetaxel
is failing. I am very active, physically very well and coping well with
docetaxel
.. I suppose my questions are: 1. Does it look like
docetaxel
is failing? 2. What are the options if it is.

Any enzalutamide for chemo?
Tall Allen recently posted about a trial in which taking enzalutamide during
docetaxel
chemotherapy might help get the PSA down. Abiraterone failed for me recently and I’m re-challenging with
docetaxel
. I’m based in the UK, and NHS protocol doesn’t allow this.

Should I Add Docetaxel to Lupron and Zytiga?
Perhaps, the reasoning is that if doublet therapy is effective at keeping one's PSA below .05, then the
docetaxel
wouldn't be effective. On the other hand, if
Docetaxel
can shrink bone mets, wouldn't it be helpful even though PSA is below .05?

Chemo Update March 27, 2024
I was treated with 6 rounds of
docetaxel
in 2017/2018 when I was HSPC and I responded exceptionally well. I have been CRPC since 2022 and have tried abiraterone and Radium 223 (Xofigo). I just completed 7 rounds of
docetaxel
again and PSA went from 105 to 3.1 after 4 rounds then started doubling.

Full circle with this disease
Start 10 rounds of
Docetaxel
and PSA starts dropping again. After first treatment PSA drops to 62 then 17 and then 5. Currently on 4th round and I am very happy that I am responding to
Docetaxel
again. I am planning on doing 10 treatments.

Protein discovery could help solve prostate cancer drug resistance Date:January 22, 2024 Source:Washington State University
Docetaxel
resistance can develop in prostate cancer after about six months of treatment. Wu said this type of combination therapy could also potentially be used for other cancers that are currently being treated with
docetaxel
, such as breast and lung cancer.

Hello everyone, My husband is having
Docetaxel
after Thanksgiving. Can anyone recommend prescriptions that I should ask for before treatment for Nausea and Vomiting? In case of Neuropathy, I bought the gloves and feet things with the ice things and I have Gabapentine.

Radiation after Docetaxel
My dad finished chemo
Docetaxel
in November 2023. In December his PSA was .61. In February it jumped to 2.3. He went for a PET scan. He went back to the doctor today his PSA jumped to 6. The scan showed that many of the metastasis in his bones shrunk are almost gone.

Info about docetaxel
I have been at Stage 4 for 7 1/2 years. and a succession of Xtandi, Nubequa, and Zytega along with Lupron has kept my PSA under two although each has eventually failed (PSA quickly rising above 1.0). My recent blood draw resulted in a jump from 0.78 to 1.29 while I was on the Aberaterone/prednisone protocol

options after Docetaxel
Once his PSA starting trending upwards he was put on several sessions of
Docetaxel
. Unfortunately at this time, he did not received Lupron as he should have. By this time his PSA was up to 67. As soon as he received the Lupron, it dropped to 26.

Treatment for low-PSA mHSPCa
The only study I can find on treatment for low-PSA: "Mortality Risk for
Docetaxel
-Treated, High-Grade Prostate Cancer With Low PSA Levels: A Meta-Analysis | Oncology | JAMA Network Open" | indicates that adding
docetaxel
to SOC for low-PSA patients had very good results, however this was for non-metastatic

Is Jevtana easier to tolerate than docetaxel?
My husband has had completed 10 sessions of
docetaxel
. The last three were given with a second dose of Carboplatin. Jevtana is new to us. How is it tolerated? Why can it be given at such a high number of doses?

Now what? Second go-around of docetaxel not responding.
Took 6 rounds of
docetaxel
followed by ongoing Lupron injections and then 3 years of Zytiga. PSA was driven down to 2.0 from 76 with 1st 6 rounds of
docetaxel
. Zytiga drove PSA down again to 3.0 from 14. PSA began rising early this year from 7.5 in January to 36 in June.
