Update from yesterday's ablation.
Unsure if that feeling woozy was just the protamine or a combination of the
diamorphine
and midazolam as well. I was given a bag of fluid when back on ward which helped. My face looks and feels much better at present.

Is PSP usually painful?
In the last few weeks, my father has been needing painkillers (he’s now on Fentanyl patches, topped up with oral
diamorphine
as necessary). I think the pain is because all his muscles are so stiff and contracted.

I wish I knew what to expect (late stages).
He was recently started on
diamorphine
to control agitation and pain — it’s painful when he’s moved, because all his muscles are so rigid.

Baby Hazel
I used gas & air, then a
diamorphine
injection followed and just before she was born I required a little cut to help her out. Thank you to everyone who gave me their tips and advice - this site/app has been invaluable. All the best to all you ladies on this amazing adventure x

Dad's in again!
This is his 3rd admission in 6 months and just by chance yesterday whilst visiting him the nurse left his medical card on his bed which I then noticed that he had been given morphine and
diamorphine
the 2 previous mornings around 2-4am.

I began induction on the Tuesday, by the Tuesday night I was 3cm dilated but they wanted me to sleep so they gave me

, I drifted in and out of sleep all night and up until about Wednesday lunchtime.

The birth of cheeky Emily :-)
I was given some
diamorphine
which completely disagreed with me and there I was, for hours on end, half bouncing on a ball, half asleep on the bed, delirious and unable to open my eyes, I was given gas and air once in established labour and I coped with that for hours on end, begging for the

My birthing story!!
Had
diamorphine
at three in the morning which knocked me for two. Partner came up the next morning but I was in and out of sleeping all day. I had reached three cm dilated and they were able to break my waters so was going to labour suite at 1 o'clock.

My yellow bump has turned into a baby!
I only used gas at 7cm, then got a
diamorphine
injection which in my opinion did nothing, but hubby reckoned made me tired. But anyway, after 2 hours of pushing, I finally got to meet my perfect little girl and even got 2hrs of skin to skin.

So big bubs finally made his appearance....
Then the pain came and i promptly requested
diamorphine
, mmmmhhh good stuff. We contined through the night and were 10cm around 4.30am. As bubs was so chilled, they gave me 3 hrs to disend and push, i got him down low but they decided vontuse was needed.

I've got 4 weeks to go now and I can't decide whether to use
diamorphine
or epidural I will definitely start with gas and air though. I know pros and cons of both methods but its my first baby so am a bit undecided?has any mums on here used both in the past ?which one would you recommend ?x

Baby James and my LONG week!
Four cm, I had gas and air and later in the evening,
diamorphine
to help take the edge off. Alas, not everything was as smooth sailing as my pregnancy.

Peace at Christmas.
We knew he was getting weaker and when pneumonia was disgnosed he went onto the Liverpool Pathway but actually needed very little
diamorphine
, and none in the last 36 hours. His daughter and I spent his last four days at his side which was a very special time.
