IgA Nephropathy and transplant outcomes

Hi All,

I my mother has been diagnosed with Kidney failure and is undergoing dialysis. Her Kidney failure was due to IgA Nephropathy, which was diagnosed 20 years ago, and has recently resulted in kidney failure. While considering transplant as an option, I would like to understand what outcomes can be expected from people who have been in a similar position - having had IgA Nephropathy and undergone transplant. Has the IgA re-occured causing the graft damage? I have not been able to find a single person with IgA nephropathy in my community and hence reaching out.

My husband had IgA nephropathy and his kidneys failed just 3 years after his diagnosis. He had a transplant back in 1993 and it is still stable and functioning well. I think occasionally IgA can return and damage the new kidney but most people with IgA are successfully transplanted.
