Glykind XR 60
Anybody in india taking GlykindXR60 to control their blood sugar levels?
Gliclazide is very very good medicine for controlling diabetes.
I am using it since from 15 years. This belongs to sulfonylurea class of insulin secretagogues, which act by stimulating beta cells of the pancreas to release insulin.
It is also to be called an organ saver medication.
At what age did you became diabetic? Do you have any complication?
Is life style change an option in India?
Haha. No, but why are you asking this?
There are many benefits to life style change. I like to see life style change discussed more here. If we combine life style change with regular waking or exercise, we all can enjoy a healthy life.
i just wanted to know the review about the medicine
As far as Lifestyle is concerned ..i always walk for 30 mins after breakfast lunch and dinner ..never ate rice white bread pasta since last 2 years.. I have quit smoking drinking.. i have never allowed my HBA1c level to cross 5.7 since last 2 years..
Excellent achievement, where as me, living on the borderline of HbA1c level!!!
Hope one day WHO will look at cluster 5 of the new study in increase the HbA1c number from 6.5% to a higher value for old people.
I like a good discussion, I am making note of all medication in case i need the medication one day.
Can any one explain life style changes in detail.
The ICS-NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme Low-Carb approach has 5 to 10 portions of natural fat per day
5 plus portions of berries and/or non-starchy veg
2 to 3 portions of protein (fat intact)
2 to 3 portions of full-fat dairy
0 to 4 portions of low Gi carbohydrates.
The doctors advise about life changes. But in practice, not many are strict about it.Ignorance is a major factor.
Eight years ago my HbA1c was 9%, I was told I am diabetic. I took life style change, the lowest was 6.3 and now it is 7.1.
My GP practice says, we are monitoring your HbA1C and Cholesterol.
When it was 9 %, I was offered medication, I went on life style change.
I am struggling to understand, Am I diabetic or not?
Only time will tell, I go for once a year, foot check, eye check and blood check.
whats your age and since how many years you are diabetic?
I am 72. Looking at the five clusters, I am there is the 5th!!
Once you were diagnosed as a diabetic, there is no way you can come out of it even if your numbers are within non diabetic zone due to your efforts and lifestyle changes.I feel that by remaining diabetic, you have an advantage since by managing diabetes well, you are making sure you protect other aspects of your health.
In UK, many people have done well by reducing their HbA1C number by diet and exercise. There is a term called reversal!
Any way only time will tell.
I'm struggling to understand why you would think you aren't diabetic. Your blood glucose is high, and your carbohydrate intake needs lowering.
No any complication , thanks God.
I have diabetes since from 25 years.
At that time I was 31 years old.
and in last 25 years your HBA1C was always under 7 ?
But I always focus my eyes on glucose level. I always use glucometer ( one touch select plus). At least I check in my glucose 3-4 times a day.
Last time my HBA1C was 6.5 on 8 th of January 2019.
I'm a bit confused. That's still right on the doorway of full-blown diabetes blood glucose, even with medication. It may be better than previous, but unless it is under 5.8% it is still high.
So you're taking a medication to make your pancreas secrete more hormone and still have high blood glucose. High insulin levels will make insulin-resistance worse; why don't you eat less carbohydrate?
I don't take too much carbohydrates.I just take 1 chapatti in after noon and 1 chapatti at night with some curry 🍛 or vegetables 🥒. Only 1 slice of (medium) wholemeal 🍞 bread with 1 fried egg and 1 cheese slice and a big mug of sugar free tea.
When your blood glucose is high, why add further carbohydrate to it?
You think , I am taking too much carbohydrates (just 2 chapatti in 24 hours).
I don't think so.
Some fruits and vegetables as well.
I don't want to die man .
No idea how many years I will survive but 25 years have been gone with diabetes, with very good care of diabetes.
You can always cut the chapatis in half and eat the other half later in the day/evening.😀
Please check your private messages on HU. It’s okay.😀👍
I don't want you to suffer either. The necessity is to eat less carbohydrate to bring down blood glucose, then reduce medication with the approval of your doctor, reducing insulin levels to improve insulin sensitivity.
I eat 3 and half chapaati in lunch and 3 in dinner.. 2 tablets of glykind XR60 only before lunch.. no tablet while having dinner!!
How many years you have a diabetes?
That is why you are telling me,.
My diabetes is 25 years old.
Later on your medicine will also increase.Do not worry.
When my diabetes was 2 years old , I was just taking 1 tablet of glibinclamide 5 mg.
Gradually gradually I changed the medicines and increased with the passage of time.
But it is not a progressive disease if you can live a healthy life style! Than why your tablets have been increased to this extent?
You will know with the passage of time.
And yea one more thing!! Since last 2 years i visit my endo after every months and in every visit my medicines has got decreased only instead of increasing..
Tell me after few years. Don't worry.
Diabetes will NEVER leave you 1 day you will leave the diabetes foreverly.
I know that diabetes will never leave me! But i will make sure that i wont die because of diabetes
Diabetes, itself does not do anything. It creates complications like, heart problems, kidneys failure, neuropathy, eye problems, skin infections, slow in healing process, uti , etc
In this last 2 years! I have done full research on diabetes!! I knw what it does to body organs.. specially heart kidney and eyes! But i vl make sure that i keep my PP sugar under 180 for the rest of my life..if i achieve the same than i can drastically reduce the chances of diabetes complications.. right?
Exactly keep your eyes 👀 open on diabetes......
Just do blood tests every day and see HBA1C after 3-4 months.
Then you will be alright.
And if it's level increases, then increase medicines as necessary.
i check my sugar thrice a day.. and sometime i check even 5-7 times also
But DIABETES WILL Never leave you. GUARANTEED
The diabetes prevention programme recommends PP below 153 mg/dl as a target.
ADA goes for PP glucose under 180!
They do! And as more and more people begin to benefit from the tighter control achievable by controlling (not eliminating) carbohydrate intake, they are asking "why wasn't I told this before?".
With the 5.8, are you talking about mg/dl or mmol?
Thank you. 😀
I also take
2 tablets of gliclazide 80mg
0ne in morning and one at night
One Empagliflazine 10 mg in morning
One metformin 750mg in lunch time
One sitagliptine 100mg
In lunch time also.
Seems like u are on maximum dosage of tablets
I think you take too much pills, if you've been with diabetes for decades and you think it is progressing (getting worse) why don't you try insulin shots? Gliclazide is a secretagogue, it works by forcing your pancreas to produce (secrete) more insulin beyond what it normally does, so your pancreas beta cells will dry up faster before its due time, on the other hand, insulin shots provide ready to use insulin and take over the burden of your pancreas
You are right.
But , I live here in uk 🇬🇧since from 25 years.
You can't do with your own choice.
So Drs. Decide here.
You always remain here in Drs. Care.
Excellent post!, with in 3 hours you have taken this into a popular post. Good discussion.
Bcz of my experience ,
Tried bitter melon
Tried swertia chirata
Tried gymnema sylvestre
Tried syzygium cumini
Tried picrohiza kurroa
Tried Melia Azadirachta
Tried tinospora cordifolia
BUT ONLY ALOPATHIC MEDICINES ARE RELIABLE.
These medicines can control diabetes.
But you have never tried walking for 30 mins after your meal.
I am sluggish man. I don't like walk or exercise.
But honestly I tried 2-3 months continuously walk or may be more but I was very disappointed. It didn't do any help for decreasing my diabetes.
Thy this three times a day. get two, 4 kg weight of what ever possible, rice, sand etc.
Sit on the chair, lift the weight, move it up and down, left to right for 30 minutes.
Can be difficult, give it a try, this is a slow process to get it going.
In the gym, in UK, there are many Asians doing exercise and weights and other machines, some one somewhere informed them of the benefits!
"The American College of Physicians (ACP) has informed doctors to advise people to aim for HbA1c levels between 7-8% (53-64 mmol/mol), rather than the traditional advice of 6.5-7% (48-53 mmol/mol)."
"Summary of Recommendations from the ACP Guidance Statement:5
– Clinicians should personalize goals for glycemic control
– Aim to achieve HbA1c 7-8% in most patients
– De-intensify pharmacologic therapy when HbA1c < 6.5%
– Avoid targeting HbA1c level in certain patient populations"
You people why don't give a trial for paleo diet system. Now a days it is becoming popular in Tamil Nadu.I heard many people reverse diabetes and reduce weight within 3 months.
I am afraid there are many programs, but it does not work for every one! Each individual have to find a balance on diet and exercise for healthy life.
