The most common reasons for hypertriglyceridemia developing are obesity, lack of physical activity, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome and familial hyperlipidemia, a genetic condition that causes high triglycerides and low levels of the “good” cholesterol, HDL (high-density lipoprotein).

Stop consumption of alcohol. Weight loss and dietary modification are effective first-line lifestyle modification treatments for hypertriglyceridemia. For people with mildly or moderately high levels of triglycerides lifestyle changes including weight loss, moderate exercise, and dietary modification are recommended. This may include restriction of carbohydrates (specifically fructose) and fat in the diet and the consumption of omega-3 fatty acids from algae, nuts, and seeds.

You have not mentioned what is your complete report of Lipid Profile,& BP

A new study says old people can have high triglycerides level . Of course the age limit given is above 80 . But the logic behind that finding is not convincing .

Actually, according to me TG levels keep on changing continuously after your every meal and fasting also keeps on changing vastly as I have tested it almost every 3 months for 2-3 years. We must not worry about it much. Just eat sensibly healthy food when you are hungry. Low carbs, low fat and all doesn't work for everybody.

Cholesterol is important for building new cells and for producing hormones . As far as levels are concerned many times the range of normal levels keeps getting changed . But level of cholesterol up to 240 is not a problem . If crosses beyond 240 it should be a matter of concern and care . Similarly LDL - above130 , HDL below 35 is a matter of concern . Tryglycerides up to 200 is in border line . Above 250 has to be taken with serious attention .In some cases the maximum allowable range can go up to 300 . Total cholesterol above 250 and tryglycerides above 350 is really dangerous state . Excess calories whether it is from simple carbs or red meat , eggs , milk , or other meat cause the dangerous increase in the levels . Then arteries get hardened and get narrowed where by the blood flow is blocked and the supply of oxygen to the heart gets reduced . It is a condition causing Atherosclerosis . So whether it is LCHF OR HPLC OR HCLF DIET is not the question . The answer is limited intake of food with all the nutrients . Medical science to day is not a science , it is the highest revenue giving business . The entire medical fraternity is sold to pharma companies and the research is engineered data guided and funded by them .It is better people wake up to the reality and take the cure in to their hands by following sensible eating habits and following healthy life style changes .Ducks , geese , goats . pigs , turkeys , pigs , cows , buffaloes , sheep , what is it left with out being devoured . They all contribute to high levels of cholesterol .

First follow a low carb diet.Increase intake dry fruits like almond, walnut ,peanut and flaxseed.

conventional medicine deals effectively with medical emergencies and traumas . It does not work on chronic diseases which are caused by multifactoral issues . To day one third of the deaths are due to the medical errors . Diet and lifestyle are the primary causes of chronic diseases . The same holds good in case of auto immune diseases which are actually disorders .
