Never heard/read about any such relationship. But,if you are facing too much discomfort and problems due to gallstones, your diabetes condition may deteriorate. Please review if the gallstones are causing any collateral damage vis-a-vis diabetes.

The question is best answered by your family doctor

Gallstones do not cause diabetes mellitus. ...People with diabetes should be aware of an increased risk of gallstones. ... Obesity increases cholesterol secretion into the bile, which can accumulate in the gallbladder and eventually lead to the formation of gallstones.

Bile acid and lipid composition are usually increased in diabetic patients. Cholecystitis (inflammation of the gallbladder) seems to be a more serious disease in diabetic patients, with worse infectious sequelae and more rapid disease progression.
