Here is a nice video on short term and long term implications of the low carb diet on health that are scientifically proven:
Is a low carb diet dangerous?: Here is a nice... - Diabetes India
Quite educative ! Thanks
Forget about low carb one can live well without any carbs in the diet.Carbs are energy only with some fibers and a few nutrients. But you can skip carbs and eat protein and fat instead.Wild animals can't / don't eat carbs. There are carnivorous people in the world who are healthy and happy.Body can produce carbs denovo required by the body.
We are not wild\animal\both. Look at our teeth and stomach. There is a big difference of Jaws and intestines of carnivorous and the humans. I'm neither coercing nor advising anyone to follow this type of diet, it's just an information for common people. Talking about me, I don't care whether it is carb\protein\fat. I eat what I like without going into much details. That includes fruits and vegetables. Only thing I do is avoid sugar and bakery products as much as possible. Every week I check my bs and it is well under control. I do exercise regularly. No pain and no worries,That's it.
" We are not wild\animal\both.". Yes.But we are also not like other humans. We t2d people can't clear off carbs efficiently. So we should avoid eating carbs like we avoid raw uncooked meat.
I know that but eating in small amount doesn't affect our health.
Dangerous is a very strong word. Yes, anything can become dangerous if proper care is not taken while implementing. I believe this video is talking about low carb in ketogenic range ( carb limited to 20 - 30 gm). People with certain conditions e.g. thyroid issues must consult a Doctor before starting this diet.
Low carb does not always mean KETO diet. Carb requirements will vary depending on a person's need. Those who are diabetics should consume carbs as per their tolerance limits. Anything above that will aggravate the conditions. In addition, lack of vitamins and minerals if any should be addressed suitably.
Overall, there is compelling evidence that low carb high fat diet is quite powerful in blood sugar control and more and more health agencies are recommending this.
Thank you for sharing this video with everyone, Hidden. Very interesting information.
Very good share, thanks. I've been following LCHF diet after reading a few good posts here. It's taken me almost a year and a half but now my Hba1c stands at 5.7 while in Jan'17 it was 16.4. I've achieved this without anti- diabetic medicines , only with following LCHF and taking mineral supplements. On occasions I've tried various other things and what worked best for me was a few tinctures, sm herbal extracts/powders etc but LCHF was always the mainstay. This video has also solved the mystery as to why my BP is generally on the lower side these days!😃
To all Indians--- Happy Independence Day 😊
LCHF DIET IS THE BEST CARBS IS ESSENTIAL FOR OUR HEALTH AND IT SHOULD BE EATTEN AS OUR BODY NEEDS
Hi, our body needs carbs only when there is a requirement of instant energy as in strenuous workouts of intense manual labour. Some amount of carbs is present in almost all types of food. A normal adult individual won't need more. There are essential fatty acids. There are essential amino acids. Have you ever heard of essential carbs? That answers it. Added carbs are totally dispensable. Can be done away with. For type 2 diabetics.
*Those seeking short-term weight loss may benefit from a low carbohydrate diet. However, the increased risk for more severe diabetes, as well as cancer cardiovascular disease, and all-cause mortality greatly outweigh the short-term improvements in blood glucose.*
Low carb diets never will lead to all these problems. One can safely practice LCHF diet.
Low carb is the way to go. Good luck.
