Blood sugar pp sudden increase

I am 82 years old. Yesterday I had a blood test. the report is fasting 119 pp 203.hitherto it was normal.last month pp was 134.I am taking glycomet 250 mg 1/2 tablet twice a day. Is the increase in pp is due to age is it alarming

Age is a factor for uncontrolled diabetes,but it will not happen in a month's gap. Better get yourself tasted for HbA1c and if it anywhere close to 7,it should be OK considering your age.Also,please review what you ate when you recorded ppbs of 203.

I don't think it's related to your age. Last month's reading is fine . You are taking very small dose of the metformin (125 mg), so you are quite fit. Maybe you have eaten more carbs. Check bsl 2/3 times more and if readings are not normal then change the diet accordingly.

Voglibose may reduce postprandial blood sugar.
