How to begin Long Wheat Grain Diet (LWMDR) the 1st time...

Dear members, I have one quick question : When starting consumption of LWMDR for the 1st time is surely going to increase the PPBS so how to deal with that part. What should I do if PPBS level hits high like +200 is that OK or what and will it come down by itself and/or for how many days will it remain high.

I am scared to start LWMDR for this reason that if PPBS high then what to do ?

Now I am taking Metformin-SR(500mg) 1-1-1 and following LCHF diet.

I am a vegetarian but I have eggs.

DM2 was diagnosed in Jan 2017 with Hb1AC of 8.9 and now with meds and LCHF diet I have got Hb1AC down to 5.7 in Feb 2018 along with 17 kg weight loss.

Please guide and advice and......Thank you for your time.

It is not going to increas your PPBS. It will substantially get reduced starting from day1. That was my experience.

Add plenty of all kinds of vegetables with Whole long wheat and take stomach full for breakfast and dinner. Lunch is your usual lunch. This is what I understood from Mr George and followed for some time with good results.

When you have controlled your D so well why do you want to change your diet ? Carry on with what you are doing. Gradually reduce your medicines to become drug free.

suramo sir, I have got DM down to 1AC of 5.7 just with LCHF so that is really great and all thanks to you guys here at HU who have advocated the LCHF diet, though mine is not 100% diehard LCHF in the sense that my LC is low but HF is not that high.

My aim is to get 1AC level of <5.5 and go med free hence I wanted to try out LW diet and see if I can reduce metformin from 3 times/day(500mg) to 2/day and then finally 1/day in the next 9 months. This is just a thought

I don't think lwmdr can help you. Ultimately it's high carb though may be low gi but carb load is more. Also there may be marginal difference in gi of lw and the flour. Pay your attention more to what you have been doing rather than trying multiple theories.

Gud luk

suramo : LW diet did help George sir and many more here at HU so just wanted to try LW for say 3 months and see how things work out. My main aim is go off meds.

Hi Raj...Can you update your experience after you began using LW?

To be frank, could not continue as LW is not locally available at my place and buying from Amazon is very expensive. I used 2 kg LW in the form of porridge and the bs spike was at all significant.
