Everyday is a Diabetes Awareness day πŸ”΅

Hi everyone,

After my pervious post I'd like to make you all aware that it is predicted that the number of diabetics in India could double by 2023 so every day has to be seen as an opportunity to raise awareness.

A really good way is to enlist someone who is an actor tv presenter a person who is not only prominent in society but a diabetic and get them to help raise awareness.

There are lots of ways of raising awareness, you could get a tee shirt printer to print tee shirts that say diabetes awareness and with a blue circle as that symbolises diabetes.

A very good way is empowerment by communication which means just talking about diabetes to one another and in a manner that makes other people want to listen and to help to educate/inform each other of the need to embrace this and NOW.

So I will pin this post so you can add to it, so this is the beginning.

Ultimately I think the goal should be to ask diabetes organisations in India to adopt November as their awareness month. But there's plenty of time for this so over to you guys, for your comments suggestions.

I'd like to thank everyone who expressed an interest in promoting this and good for you.

Thank you sattu1959, you've got it 😊

That’s a really good idea. As a parent of a type 1 diabetic and sibling and daughter of type 2 diabetics, it is a subject close to my heart. I am at higher risk of developing diabetes and cried the day my daughter was diagnosed.

It is astounding the amount of cases of diabetes in India. I work with quite a few Indian people who have type 2 diabetes.

Thank you, as it is a big problem. I can imagine how your daughter being diagnosed made you feel and I feel for all of you.

And its up to us to do something.

I'm from the US we have many options to promote awereness. Running events, other sporting acitivites, fund raising by cook offs, are chefs creation for sale. Some may sound silly but done at a hosiptal fund raiser they work well, or a fair setting for cook-offs. It's a wonderful idea to plant the seed in very manner they need to start in the class rooms even if it is with volunteers on diet. Diets need need to be changed, so mothers and fathers no longer need to cry. We are facing the same promblem here children do not play as they once did, they are on the computers gaming or in front of the TV unless parents are vigilent. I support you all and this is a fantastic idea and post Jerry.
