Thank you for your response. I am not sure, if you will able to answer my question or not but still I would like to ask it.

Is it true, if a individual is once diabetic will remain diabetic for his/her whole life?

It's not true Bridget a type two diabetic is reversible for sure of its in the starting stage for a long period later you should be going to medication when necessary .

Thank you again for your prompt response.

Sir, will it be possible for you to tell me by these reports in which Type do I fall into?

Hi Brij,

I am not a doctor but I am a diabetic for the past 38 years from my age of 12 I am now 51.

You seem to be in the boarder so right now you should take a duet that avoids plain sugar like tea coffee with sugar and sweets . Do walking regularly and relax your mind thinking you are going to be a diabetic . Any diabetic after the adult age is type 1 . So the level which is showing now will definitely go down . The golden rule is try to avoid being a diabetic through diet and exercise . If a diabetic keep your medicine regular be positive and live life at the fullest . Any illness can be stopped by Ines positive attitude so just take care of the diet for fifteen days and go fir another test . Certain cases the normal person may also get such results but it can be brought to normal just being careful of Ines eating habits . That means not a diabetic diet but the normal healthy diet with vegetables , proteins and fruits by avoiding plain sugar. No fear about it . God bless .

First of all, don't panic. Your conditions have become known to you at an early stage and as Anup said it a blessing in disguise because you can take care of it from now on.

You should make an appointment with your Doctor and take any medication he prescribes to bring HbA1c below 6%. You can start reading about diabetes and its management. Diets have a major influence on blood sugar level in particular post-meal (PP) number. If you change your diets to low carbs it will immediately bring PP lower contributing to lower HbA1c.

No doubt you are a diabetic.Since it is at an early stage, you can take certain steps to reduce sugar levels and postpone dependance on medicines.Firstly,is it possible to reduce your weight by few kilos? If you succeed in doing so,it will go a long way in reducing your sugar levels.Next, you have to increase your physical activity. You are only 36 and it should not be difficult for you to do strenuous workouts.A disciplined lifestyle is very important in diabetes control.Avoid stressful situations as stress is a major trigger of diabetes.Last but most importantly, you should be very particular of what and how much you eat.Avoid sugar and sugary foods.Reduce intake of carbohydrate rich foods like rice, wheat, potato etc.Eat more vegetables, greens, nuts, legumes, sprouts etc that do not cause too much sugar spikes.Do not eat heavy meals.Eat smaller meals and go for in-between snacks like nuts and fruits. For making all these changes, what you need is thorough knowledge about diabetes and it's management.Use search function on this web page to access all the earlier posts of several senior diabetics. You can come to this forum if you face any doubts. Please note, mutually sharing experiences with other diabetics plays a very critical role in diabetes management.

Diabetes is diagnosed with the following blood tests:--

Fasting blood glucose level -- diabetes is diagnosed if it is higher than 126 mg/dL two times

Random (nonfasting) blood glucose level -- you may have diabetes if it is higher than 200 mg/dL, and you have symptoms such as increased thirst,

urination, and fatigue (this must be confirmed with a fasting test)

Oral glucose tolerance test -- diabetes is diagnosed if the glucose level is higher than 200 mg/dL after 2 hours

Hemoglobin A1c test

Normal: Less than 5.7%

Pre-diabetes: Between 5.7% and 6.4%

Diabetes: 6.5% or higher

You are a diabetic patient considering the following grounds:--

Fasting blood sugar exceeds 125 mg/dL.

HbA1c exceeds 6.4%.

My son, aged 48, has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in August last year. The diabetologist in Trivandrum has prescribed anti-glycemic medications after conducted several tests. But he declined to take medicines taking advice from the American doctors.. Now he is walking 5 to 8 miles daily in the morning. Now he has reduced carbohydrate diet and increased protein rich food. Now his weight and abdominal girth has been reduced. His blood sugar and blood pressure are normal for several months.

Hello Brij2101981

Once a diabetic always a diabetic

Adopt low carb diet

Search the net

I had 7.2 Hba1c 2 years back.

Its 4.9 now a couple of months back

Reduce carb based foods, increase proteins & healthy fats

You can keep Diabetes at bay as long as you hold on to the diet changes

Not exactly losing balance, but very disruptive and of very high nuisance value. As if losing independence.

Do follow the low carb diet advised here. Pharmaceutical medications come with serious side effects. It is certainly possible to become drug free and healthy again.

Fruit should be eaten very judiciously as it is high in sugar. Berries are good. Get over the fear of fat. Fat is our friend. Sugar is poison. Just remember these simple principles.
