in light of the current controversy, what is the safe levels of blood sugar? Fasting, After Food and At Random ???
I am managing HBA1C level between 6.5 and 7 by eliminating Sugar and sweets from my food. I take Jamun Powder, Methi Seeds and Wheat Grass Powder daily. I walk For 40 mts.
is it ok?
FBS < 90, PPBS - spike should be always < 140, 2 hrs < 120.
You are maintaining higher Hba1c. It should be < 5.7
Fasting blood sugar (FBS) should be less than 100 mg/dL.
Postprandial blood sugar should be less than 140 mg/dL.
Random blood sugar must be less than 140 mg/dL.

If a person is diabetic the safe sugar level should be berween 120 and 130(Fasting) and PP less than 200 units.You will be told it should be less than 100(Fasting) which is the level of normal person Hb A1C should be mantained less than 7
@ GNjanbaz ...Such high levels of a diabetic person ( pp 200 etc) cause long term complications, affect eyes, kidneys,heart,and neurological problems.. NOT desirable at all... keep fasting below 100, pp below 140,A1c below 6.0.otherwise Complications are guaranteed and life will be horrible.. LOW LEVELS of sugar can be achieved by lifestyle changes and following low carb diet.. This also reduces medicines.Many here are benefitted by this.See their posts and lifestyle here and on dlife.in.
How about when PP Dinner is 239 & fasting on next day is 90.If fasting is ok,whether PP 239 is also ok?It also says if PP Dinner is maintained to ideal 140/150,the fasting would have been hypoglycemic level.if i try to maintain HbA1c below 7,experienced hypo several times to a monimum level 45.Any suggestion/comment plesse.
Thanks for the comment.My 239 sugar after 2hrs of dinner is with 2 plain roti with half a spoon cow ghee & 1/2 cup vegitable &1cup dal.If i would have normal PP Sugar i.e.180,my fasting would have some where 55/60.
If your blood sugar is above 200 mg/dL, glucose will be secreted along with urine. This is a risk factor for diabetic nephropathy. Voglibose is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor used for lowering post-prandial blood glucose levels in people with diabetes mellitus.
Consult a diabetologist, if so desired.

Is there thumb rule like this?...How is age is connected?... PP above 140 is bound to cause some problem,irrespective of age..
