He recommends vegan diet.

I know that the diet that he recommends is vegan. But I am sure he doesn't suggest eating anything just because it is vegan. I am looking for specifics of his diet plan.

You can attend his basic workshop. There are videos available on youtube about him.

I have seen testimonials of some people who have benefited from this program on their youtube channel. Though many of them seem to have gotten off from insulin and medicine, not all of them pass the OGTT. Also, not sure if the diet allows sweets.

Personally, I would not mind paying a few thousand bucks if the diet/treatment is really effective. The diet seems to be less restrictive compared to LCHF diet regimen.

Right now relishing strawberry apple chunks in coconut milk topped with few walnut and almond slices. Its so yum. Never felt lchf could be so simple nd tasty. All the hours i spent in kitchen to cook elaborate carb charged meals. I still cook for family nd me but changed the style. Less carbs moderate protiens nd added good fats. I eat in portions while children eat it vth regular food thus reducing their carb intake. I am indian vegetarian and started managing. Even my 4 year old lazy beagle is on part lchf nd has become more energetic.

I have attended Dr Tripathi's both programmes.1/2 day basic and 3 months intensive.

It is very easy and effective if followed religiously.

I am free from all medicines for sugar, bp,cholestral since mid August.

I have lost 11kg in 6 months. My BMI is now minimum.

Highlights of the the diet are

-- no milk products, no animal products, no refined products.

-- green Smoothy first in the morning ( 1 apple or pear, green leafy veg, mint, 1beetle leaf, tulsi leaves pinch of cinnamon, black pepper,, turmeric.

-- no grains for breakfast

-- meals should have 25% each of grain! dal, subzi and salad

-- anti gravity exercises like climbing stairs, weight training etc.

This is to be followed for life if one wants to remain free from medicine because you are never free from diabetes.

I would recommend one should attend both the programmes for better results.

Thanks. The anti-gravity exercises are for weight loss? Or to burn calories? Or for better insulin sensitivity?

It is said that if you climb stairs for 15 minutes 1-1/2 hours after meals, the sugar level drops by 25/40 counts. Try it for yourself.

What are Dr Tripathi's diet macro nutrient specifications in gms or in % contents for a days calory needs of say 1500 K-cal?, Taking 25% grain -25% Daal-25% Subji and 25% salad is what the doctor means? Fat missing all together?

since you have LCHF experience also can you work it out in carbs-protein-fat % ?

Unfortunately my lipids and uric acid went high with LCHF

Blood sugar was 100 percent under control

jingale in reply to Jaffy

How about triglycerides? Just high cholesterol is doesn't convey much about cardiovascular health. I am not sure how uric acid levels are affected by LCHF diet. Could they rise because of high protein content of a non veg diet?

Hi Jingale,

My triglycerides are 63.

Normally I am taking vegetables (mixed) 600 to 700 grams. I count the carbs in vegetables after removing the fiber. I make sure all the carbs for the full day is maximum 100 grams.

In addition to this, I take Full FAT cream 200 grams, 200 ml milk, two eggs fried in ghee, butter 40 grams added to vegetables, 7 almonds, 7 walnuts, 15 peanuts, two slices cheese, chicken or mutton 200 grams.

Age 48 Years , 10 year diabetic, oral medicine , 94 kg weight

Dr. Tripathi's Program is very beneficial. I have started it on 8 Aug 2015 and medicine stopped from 23 Aug 2015 ! before start of program HB1Ac was 8.5 , then in Dec 2015 it was 5.8 ... then every 3-4 months I am doing HB1AC 6..... 6.2.... 7.5 ...7.3 all without medicines. Off late I have taken deviations and hence the fig has gone up. In past even after medication , HB1AC used to be more than 8.5

I am planning to intensify the diet plan and exercise and sure I will bring it back to 6 in next 3 months.

In the process , I have lost 14 Kg , feeling very light and healthy !

i would say , one must try Dr, Tripathi, I don't understand why other Doctors do not like him.

There is no scientific basis for Pramod Tripathi's Vegan Diet. And please Neal Barnard the person Tripathi follows doesn't have any credible trials either to prove his results. The mere reason it works in short-term is that a breakfast smoothie vegan diet is a low-calorie diet which causes rapid weight loss which in turn takes diabetes into remission. After that they do all Jalebi eating stunt etc. but if you speak to the participants in few months most will have got their diabetes back and Tripathy team will blame it on you for not following his diet . Happened to many folks. You can see Vitekar's results above where is back into diabetic state. Ths is because such a diet is not sustainable in the longer term. You can have the same results by following any weight loss program but if it's not sustainable diabetes will come back. Plus rapid withdrawal of insulin and medications causes long-term complications. results show metformin helps anti-aging so it should be continued. Am not sure what he charges so much money for 25,000 for the program and 2500 for a mere advertising talk is like looting the public.

If you want to reverse your diabetes gradually reduce your refined carbohydrate intake, complex carbs like whole wheat and vegetables are fine. Stay away from smoothies which lack fiber. and take no more than 1 fruit a day because fruits are carbs. There is no magic bullet and anyone who tells you there is scamming you. Diabetes can be reversed in few cases not all and it takes 6 months to do it safely. Your glucose values log book and diet and exercise are your best friends.

Another person you need to avoid is Biswaroop. He went on stage to show fructose doesn't cause blood sugar spike using a glucometer which doesn't even record fructose. People are gullible enough to believe anything someone with a Dr in front of his name shows them even if he is Dr in History.
