Sorry to say Doctor its not only Metformin its Vildagliptin50 mg Along with Metformin 1000mg. So the layman confuses at your post. Now for all side effects refer to >>

Vildagliptin, an oral anti-diabetic drug, is indicated for the treatment of type-2 diabetes mellitus with other similar drugs. Vildagliptin increases the circulatory levels of two incretin hormones in response to food intake and glucose metabolism.

Pharmacodynamics

Vildagliptin is a dipeptidylpeptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that improves glycaemic control by preventing DPP-4 from inactivating the incretin hormones glucagon-like peptide-1 and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide, thus prolonging incretin activity in response to ingestion of nutrients. This increases insulin sensitivity, decreases glucagon secretion and improves β-cell function.

Pharmacokinetics

Absorption: Rapidly absorbed. Max plasma concentrations achieved 1-2 hr after oral admin.Oral bioavailability: About 85%.

Metabolism: Metabolised by hydrolysis.

Excretion: Mainly excreted in the urine.
