All grand mother (Dadi) concoctions are of no use. But just for your knowledge Gond in English is edible Gum and Kalongi is Onion seeds

Hi Kalonji is not onion seed. It is Black Jeera (Karunjeerakam in Tamil). It is used mostly in middle east for most of the diseases as medicine including Diebetic.

Kalonji or Kalounji is "onion seed". Black jeera is simply "black cumin"

Not an expert but I know that Diabetes, Thyroid and Hyper Tension can not be cured permanently and only be maintained at optimum levels by a healthy diet and lifestyle. first one need to know exact cause and intensity of the disease and then only a physician either allelopathic /Homeopathic or Aryuvedic can decide the levels of the recommended drugs  but taking a healthy diet containing more proteins, less Carbs & fats, avoid Junk food, Smoke and Alcohol, doing exercise regularly will certainly work without any recommendation from an expert.
