Fenufibre is debitterised form of methi or fenugreek(in English).it is made from husk of methi seeds.During the process of de bitterisation protein,fat and other constituents are lost.Only soluble and insoluble fibres remain.

In its place course methi power can be taken.

One teaspoon Methi can be soaked in night in one small glass of water.In morning empty stomach chew the soaked Methi and than drink the Methi water of glass. It will help in reducing and controlling the Diabetes, Joint pains etc. I am doing and my diabetes levels are on border.

@gopi,

It is said that methi seeds should not be chewed,but swallowed.dose of methi seed is 25 gms. Per day in2-3 divided doses before meals. You are taking only about 5gms/day.

Whole night soaked Methi,Grinded Powder of Methi,sprouted Methi, mixed with powders of Haldi, Sonth etc. Methi don't harm.Quantity whatever you can able to take 5 to 15 grams and even more.

I was intrigued to know about Fenufibre. Unfortunately the above few lines are so obscure that I need the author, or preferably someone else, to explain the words, "only soluble and insoluble fibre remains. In its place course methi power can be taken"

I am familiar with methi and take it daily, but what is "course methi"?

It is not clear if the loss of protein, fat and other constituents is good or bad, pls clarify.

Many thanks, F Joly

Thank you for pointing out.please read coarse in place of course.It simply says grind methi seeds but don't make it fine powder,keep it rough.

Loss of protein and other constituents do make difference in medicinal effects.In nut shell, methi seeds are better than fenufibre depending on the purpose.If it is taken as a supplement only to increase dietary fibre then fenufibre .But if itis taken for medicinal purpose then methi seeds are much better option.

Best is to soak 250 gms of methi n soak it and then sprout the same and use it for entire week ! Sprouted methi is good for health, sugar n acts like a luxative too...very beneficial..just keep it fridge for weeks usage ! George

I am non-diabetic.But I use to take methi directly along with all my four meals.At the time of completion of each chewing for swallowing I put into my mouth some methi. In the beginning I started with 75 counts of methi per meal. It will come to 300 counts (1gm)/day for four meals.Later I changed the qty slowly to 5gms/day.For this I have been keeping methi bottle on my dining table.Methi is not chewable in raw condition Consume enough water during or in between meals to soak methi.Pangs of huger and thirst were found to be reduced b'cause of methi intake.I have been experimenting for the last six months for the sake of my diabetic wife,but she is averse for this harmless method.She is adamant to follow the method of food and max medicine.She does not consider that food can be used as medicine.Start methi on small dose as mentioned above and increase dosage slowly.

Please convince your wife that diet and excercise are as important as medicine in controlling diabetes and at the same time reducing medicines.Please make her understand what is diabetes and how it is caused.You can get details if you search previous posts on this forum.

People are averse to changes. We cannot change anybody "on arguing".Their is a saying,"If the cow is disobeying your stick,allow it to go as it likes." The master has to be watchful about its plight.I am in favor of exercises and change of diet.Many of our women are conditioned more to indoor life.

You are absolutely right.Still continue trying to modify ,not change,her diet.For excercise no need to go out of house.

Good luck.
