Some sulphonyureas suit some one better than others. Could this be because of genetic predisposition?

Some diabetes experts feel that sulfonylureas accelerate the loss of beta cells from the pancreas, and should be avoided.

If beta cells are unable to release insulin (they are producing insulin) and you are not resistant to insulin then it is possible that you can have better result from sulphonyluria drug with minimum dosage.

Sulphonylurias sensitises them to release insulin.

Yes. I will give you the details sometime later. I have experience. Currently I don't take any meds. 2 years back when I was taking sulpho half pill of gliclizde 40mg was sufficient for me to control BS.

What is your current drug schedule and what are your BS levels?
