I am 33 Year old with 5.9" Height and 76KG weight, Today i have been asked for Sugar test after my Dentist found my Sugar @ 360.

I have got the test and got result with fasting 128 and Post fasting after 2 hours 216, I have taken the medicine that have been advised by dentist. Please advise

well if u keep eating loaded carbohydrates meds would keep getting increased , as its been suggest switch your diet LCHF it benefited me in a great deal just like many others , just search " lchf " here u find in a great deal of info

keep testing glucose at home its a great way to know which food act how to your body , keep a active life do some exercise and not to worry it will come under control just put your mind to it .

Very funny, a dentist is treating your high blood sugar!Am I wrong?

Nothing wrong with it. Dentists usually want a blood test before certain procedures. I myself found out that I was a diabetic during a routine eye check up, when the doctor said she suspected some infection and found my sugar readings high. And I had been cleared in a master health check only six months earlier!

Patliputra, The below was my case. i think now it will be clear how dentist dealt.

i got pane in my teeth and i consult with my dentist , she have advised following medicine as she suspect infection ,

1- Amoxicillin + Clavulanic acid = 1mg

2- Metronidazole

3- IBROUFEN

i have taken these medicine for 3 days and then consult back to dentist to remove the teeth, before removing she took my test that was after one hour of my iftar (Food) that came up with 360 mg/dl with handheld Golcumeter . she refused to remove the teeth and asked me to consult with dieb. doctor ,

as per dentist advise , i took FBS and PPBS that comes as FBS : 128 AND PPBS: 217,

i am suspecting it might gone high due to medicine taken.

Mr.Abbasi,thanks for clarification.Your initial post was so ambiguous ,it lead to the impression that your high blood,sugar was treated by dentist.I was so surprised.

Today I got other tests like A1c that comes 8.1% and fasting again 140.Doctor is advising the medicine but i am scared to have medicine.

As bs as well as A1c both are high,you must follow doctors advice as far as medication is concerned.Side by side you can go for dietary adjustments and increase your physical activity.

Pls get your Glucose tolerance test done and consult a diabetologist and take medicine on his advice. Pls do not hesitate.You have to make lot of changes in your day to day life along with medicine,exercise and food.There is nothing to worry.If you can control the food and follow the doctors advice strictly you can live a happy life.I was tested positive for diabetes at the age of 30.Now I am 69.So dear atif be happy do not get tensed.

I agree with Krishna. I my case also I visited the dentist. He recommended test for the sugar and it was marginally high.110/180.My family physician recommended the medicine for the Diab.In month of Ramadan before breaking the fast(16hrs Gap)

I checked my sugar it was 130 and after taking food I checked after 2Hrs it was 213 isn't it abnormal.Doy you think I need to consult specialist.
