I am 80 still withvery good mop of hair usuallyit is hereditary, origin. But one thing applying oil with all sorts of additive chemicals etc also contribute hair fall. Rule one remember to massage your scalp when using plain oils like coconut or plain petroleum jelly.

Your reply not only helpful but it is like hitting the patient on his head.sorry for using harsh words. Everyone want to age gracefully.let him choose his way I myself is 75+and wanted to keep my hair in good and bussy.
Prospects of regrown hair is perhaps less than 50%. I know young person who lost all his hair got 'em back with application of Dettol. I tried it and I got < 5% new hair which were too light and weak. I tried 'egg oil' and it covered less than 15% of my bald patch in a rather odd shape. It did not sustain - lost them in 3 years.
Addressing your medical condition as a whole,
As you are a diabetic, your body doesn’t produce insulin or doesn’t use it effectively, or both. When you don’t have insulin or it isn’t used effectively, sugar can build up in your blood which can damage your blood vessels. These vessels carry oxygen around your body to nourish organs and tissues. If the hair loss is related to diabetes control, you may need to adjust your diet, lifestyle, or medicine to get a better handle on your blood sugar. Once your diabetes is under control, you’ll lose fewer hairs and you’ll regrow more of the ones you’ve lost.
You can compensate the hair loss triggered by diabetes in the following way:
1) Medicines like minoxidil (Rogaine), which you rub onto your scalp and other areas where there is hair loss.
2) By taking Biotin which is a vitamin found naturally in foods like peanuts, almonds, sweet potatoes, eggs, onions, and oats. People with diabetes may have lower-than-normal levels of biotin. Taking supplements may slow down hair loss.
As you are hypertensive, you might be on most commonly prescribed drugs such as cardizem, capoten, and Beta-blockers such as metoprolol, propranolol, and nadolol. And while Beta-blockers are successful in the treatment of hypertension, they have a very prominent side effect: hair thinning or hair loss.
In some cases, hypertensive medications can be stopped and the thinning hair can be treated, though it can take several months before any difference is detected. However, if it is determined that you cannot cease taking medication to control the high blood pressure, you will need to make a decision on continuing with the medication and learning to deal with your hair problems, or changing the treatment drugs, which may help to reduce the thinning of the hair.
Having said that, if hair loss continues to be an issue, then you might want to opt for procedures such as hair implants or hair transplant. While these procedures can be heavy on the pocket, you can significantly cut down on the treatment cost by opting for medical tourism in these procedures, which can lead to great savings.
