I understand your problem and my sympathies. But medicines alone will not bring down the sugar level. You should practice strict diet control, regular and adequate exercise and lead a stress free life style. I have some general suggestions based based on long experience which you may consider.

Diabetes is a metabolic disorder which is a result of the pancreatic gland in our body either produces little or no insulin or the body has developed resistance to insulin. In both cases, the body cells do not receive the glucose needed for production of energy because insulin is essential for glucose to enter the cells. This results in the blood sugar levels to increase beyond acceptable levels, though your body cells are starved for glucose. This condition is very bad for our well being and over long term may result in severe complications.

Controlling blood sugar levels is a tough job but it is not impossible if you realize that everything is in your own hands. This is so,because though you may get good advise from doctors and dieticians,it is ultimately Y O U that will have to take all the necessary steps to successfully control diabetes. I am giving certain general suggestions based on my personal experience which you may consider and adopt based on your personal choice.

Diet plays a very important role in managing diabetes. You should reduce intake of foods that are rich in carbohydrates like sweets, rice, wheat, other grains ,potato, beet and other root vegetables rich in starch. You should eat more of vegetables, sprouts, greens and salads that give you lot of fiber, vitamins and minerals. Each meal you take should be smaller but you may have 5 or 6 meals instead 3 meals a day.

Exercise is very important to control diabetes. Daily brisk walking or jogging for at least 40 to 60 minutes is ideal. Such exercise will consume lots of energy and sugar levels come down accordingly.

Mental stress aggravates diabetes. Lead a stress free life by adopting relaxation techniques like music meditation, yoga and breathing exercises.

Please remember that the most important person in managing your diabetes is Y O U.

YES

in reply to mroy40

Wheat is mostly carbohydrate and so it does increase the sugar levels. But it's glycemic index is lower (for example glycemic index of long wheat is 42,which is quite low} than rice or potato and so the rate at which the sugar spikes is some what slower. We should also consider the overall glycemic load that we put on our system. If we are moderate in the quantity of food we ingest at each meal, the chances of reducing the hike in sugar levels are better. Please read some of the blogs posted by 'RAGHAVENDRA' and "SHOOTERGEORGE'on this forum about these topics.

Dear mroy, Dalia is full of carbohydrate. Do not eat that, rice, bread and chappathies in large quatities. Total ban on potsto. Take plenty of salads with cucumber, lettuce, and low glycemic carbd like green gram, chickpea. and non starchy vegetables like cabbage, bindi, beans, braccoli. mushroom etc. Instead of normal wheat, use samba wheat (long wheat). Keep a glucometer at home and check the pp 2 hrs after meal to make sure that a particular food is not causing a surge in sugar levels. Walk regularly. These can brig down your BS levels for sure.

usually any infection in the body increases blood sugar in diabetic. Increase the Insulin morning and night both till your blood sugar is control and then remove the tooth, Immediately after that the blood sugar will come down and you had to taper the insulin.

Your food habits must be closely watched as you are not under diet control cause taking 20 units is not sufficient for ur present intake of food. That is the main reason your sugar level is more than 200 even in fasting. Since your sugar is not under control your tooth has got infected and gum swelling will take place forming puss which requires taking anti biotic medicines first to control pain and when tooth is already infected Doctor will not remove tooth as blood will not stop when tooth is extracted during infection and high sugar level will not allow ur tooth to heal after extraction. Further sugar level increases when infection is there and vice versa. So take immediate steps to control sugar. It is my personal experience whenever I get pain in tooth it is because of increase in sugar level due intake of sweets or more food during functions. I am taking human insulin 30 units in morning and 28 units in night and morning fasting is between 100 to 120 on diet food. I am diabetic last 18 years from the age of 42 and taking insulin for the last 5 years I am perfectly alright.

Since you are diabetic and need some time to reduce your blood sugar level. I suggest you to take homeopathic medicines in wet dose. Homeopathic medicines can be taken side by side with your allopathic medicines.

Hecla Lava 30C, Chamomilla 30C and Platango 30C three times a day (10 drops in half cup luke warm water with 15 minutes interval between two medicines) for quick healing and pain relief.

You can also take Coffea Cruda 30C before going to bed to have a good sleep and pain relief.

These medicines are very effective and you may observe relief within 1-2 days. I hope, it will save you from any operation and you wouldn't have to go for root canal etc. but you have to use it for minimum 20 days.

Please report the progress once you feel better.
