Primary cause of diabetes ii hereditary.That means some of your ancestors must be carrying that gene causing diabetes.But it is not necessary that the gene will express itself in all cases.There are certain extenuating factors like obesity.sedentary life style and excessive stress for prolonged periods that force the gene to express itself as diabetes.

There are certain symptoms that go with diabetes,such as,frequent urination,excessive thirst and hunger. general feeling of lack of energy,itchiness,and even small wounds not healing properly . If you feel that you have any of these symptoms,better get yourself checked with a diagnostic laboratory.Go to the lab on empty stomach and give urine and blood samples.Then have normal breakfast and 1.5 to 2 hours after breakfast,again give urine and blood samples.The lab will analyze and give you the results on the same day.If your figures are within range,you are not diabetic.If the figure are higher than normal range,better see a diabetologist. The lab people will also guide you in this matter.
