No any exerciser is required for diabetes. Exercise is required only for body fitness

To cure / control diabetes only food replacement is required. Stop milk and milk product, Cooked food and all grains. Drink only vegetables and fruits juices without adding any salt and sugar. use fresh juice only. Do not use packed juice. If you need any help call me on 9825094145. I have reduced my medicine expenses Rs 150 from Rs. 2000 per month. Now diabetes is normal. My name is Bhagavanbhai

That's good way, but how much can we control the solid food. Especially Indians. I am glad you did it, but tough one.

However there are other arguments on restricting milk products. This confuses a lot. One of the big debate is LCHF diet. All this keep me in Limbo, not sure what's right.

I agree with you milk contain lactose which raises sugar level and most cooked food contain carbohydrate which again elevate sugar level .

Processed food and packed food are really bad for diabetic people but exercise is most important thing in treating diabetes .

Diabetes isnt a problem with low insulin it problem of insulin resistance .

The best treatment for diabetes is fasting and exercise .

this is ridiculous ... please dont give wrong advise to people.. whatever you eat, whether carbs or non carbs...you ought to work out minimum an hour a day just to make sure that all your muscles and bones are working properly ..its not for body building, but for body helping to control the sugar levels thereby improving the betacells response .. there have been many studies already suggesting that there is direct correlation b/w exercise and reduced diabetes risks . Thanks

My exercise depends on how busy I am at work. But make sure I exercise atleast 3-4 times a week. But I do it for atleast 50 mins whenever I do.

BTW, What is this poll for?

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004Administrator in reply to Ramkumar_Raj

To see how much exercise/activity is being done. Everyone should get some exercise during the day.

Ramkumar_Raj profile image
Ramkumar_Raj in reply to Activity2004

Good initiative...Thanks.

My work max permits me take just around 2000 steps or less within office, that too, only if I try to be active and not to stick to my chair. With this can u tell whether my exercise is sufficient. For my diabetes? I am doing around 7000 steps with about 50% of running

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004Administrator in reply to Ramkumar_Raj

Do you have a way of checking how many steps you take? An app on your phone or a pedometer to clip on your belt or pant pocket? I use a pedometer now for a 100 Mile Walking Challenge my boss has signed everyone up for on our Staff and I use the pedometer every day. I've done 7 miles just since yesterday.

Diabetes wise, this will help a lot. Do you think we should have a walking challenge on line? For the group?

That's a great idea, for the group target. This can keep members active. The simple way is to have Google fit app on their smart phone. It's pretty accurate and free, very easy and simple one to tract daily targets.

I like the idea and I am in for it. Let me know.

Which type of exercise should we get

Ramkumar_Raj profile image
Ramkumar_Raj in reply to nishi400

Any exercise, that activates all muscles and help spend calories. the simple rule for exercise is to spend calories that we that we take every day. for example if you take 2000 calories birthday your overall calories burned per day should be close to 2000. Our body consumes inactive calories even if we don't exercise this will be around 1200 to 1500 range so the balance calories should be exercised and spent.

I actually walk 6 kms a day for 1 hr duration

Plus the field work walking daily

Exceeding 16000 steps daily

I prefer a heavy resistance training session (35-40 mins) coupled with a 30 minutes rigorous HIIT style cardio workout. I do this every other day. So approximately 280 minutes of exercise every week.

I walk for 40 minutes followed by stepping exercise for 10 minutes

Does working in and around the house count for exercise? I rake the leaves, do weeding, do some planting, water the plants etc. Also I work inside the house cleaning, dusting, mopping, clearing cobwebs etc. I live in a large house and there is always something to be done inside and outside. I spend one to two hours on this every day. Does this count?
