Hi my blood sugars this morning was 6.2. Took luraglitide and had breakfast of porridge with honey. Took it again after an hour and it was 20.7. Same routine yesterday and second reading was 7.4. Is this normal. Iv never checked after eating before. Just trying to make sense of these fluctuations and try find out if they’re to blame for dizzy fainting spells. Thanks again

Have you considered that you could be dehydrated that makes you dizzy? Diabetes makes you dehyrated. High sugar makes me headachy, makes eyes more fuzzy, even a feeling of extreme hunger which is really torture to resist. It comes on like a wave and you know its high the idea is to avoid if possible. Tablet meds can be slower to work, try testing 2hours after eating, it lowers the anxiety. We can get hyperanxious.

Hi Berylynn thanks for answering. I drink constantly all day as I have pots. I don’t take tablets. I take liraglitide(victosa) injection. Just wondered if such a high reading was normal after eating

I dont recognise your medication, sorry its not in my diabetic book either. I take tablets and insulin ever since chemo 2 years ago due to the steriods.

Readings one hour after eating can be high still I give up trying to make sense of them.

I used to take Manuka honey every day then once when having a check up my GP asked if I was diabetic as my reading was 18. I said No but I am eating a lot of Manuka Honey. You'd better stop it he said and see what happens. At the next check up it was just slightly over normal. Then they said I was glucose intolerant but that diagnosis is not allowed now :-)

You are regarded as T2 where I have been for 15 years.
