about hba1c test

Yesterday I got my hba1c test the result is 5% is this normal I am a diabetic since 1 and half years

5% is a normal range HbA1c result - a GP (who get a whole half-day training about diabetes during their 5 year studies) would interpret this result as indicating that you do NOT have diabetes.

Doesn't mean that the person doesn't have diabetes anymore, just that they have been really good at getting control. Once diabetic, always diabetic - checked with Diabetes UK after watching misleading programme that told a woman she no longer had diabetes after getting her levels under control.

Well done to Krishraju for getting back into the non-diabetic range.
