Hi

Good to meet you I am glad that you have posted you will find good support here. I would suggest you go and speak with your GP about your depression and see what they advice. Have a look at the information on action on depression site.

Hi Jim320,

I have suffered with depression all my life and I am a full time unpaid carer for my husband for the last 13 years.. before which I cared for several members of my family. Might I suggest that you contact CarersUK, who are specifically there to support carers who are working and caring. There are also a lot of other organisations who may be able to help as I am sure it is the pressure of your job plus caring that is getting you down. It is important that you speak to your GP and obtain as much help as you can... I have a carer support worker attached to my surgery. Caring is a full time job, the responsibility for another person can be a heavy one, and it is not unusual for a crisis to make you need help... the caring role is also changing as the person you care for changes and your work may inpact your abilities. It is not WEAK to ask for help, as I am sure you have done a great job doing both until now, but why not get the support that it out there!

Hello

I'm sorry you are experiencing depression and agree with angela, being a carer can be depressing and you need to find some support for you. At the moment you are giving out whilst also having to hold down a job. You need someone there fore you so that you also get your need for care met. Sue
