  • I know about these feelings. I've had them for many years. My advice is to ask your doctor for a check up on all your symptoms. You will likely find there is nothing wrong with you.The relief you will feel is enormous.Being the kind of person you are will maybe mean you will go through this again but maybe not. If you don't take the plunge and find out, you will never be rid of your fears. Your imagination is fueling your dreads. This is what I do and find such a relief afterwards. It's worth the short term anxiety. Please do it.xxx.

  • Toxicity33---how are you? You haven't come back to us.

Please let me know if you are any further on with trying to calm your nerves down. Have you asked a doctor for a comprehensive checkup? Perhaps this is not what you feel you can do. Myra.

Hope you are doing a lot better since you first posted here.

I have had bouts of similar anxiety every 10 or 15 years. It covers you like a dark cloud for a few months and then can lift for no reason and you realize it has gone. I went to counseling many years ago for a few months and it helped me get through another 10 years. Next time I tried homeopathy and then all the years later it came back. Third time Dr put me on low dose of Effexor XL 75mg that I stayed on for 10 years but then they stopped working so I gave them up just over 5 months ago. I had to wean myself off them to avoid side effects taking one every 2nd day for few weeks then one every 3rd day for few weeks etc. I'm completely off them now over 5 months was great for three months but now the anxiety has come back and I am waiting for counseling. I don't want to go down the pills route again. I think talking to someone works far better as it lets you talk about all your fears and anxieties that the expert can put in context for you and you realize eventually that there is no reason to carry on being anxious and worried about stuff that in the grand scheme of things is really not that important at all in your life.

Nowadays people often don't talk to another human being for days life is moving so fast and then you start to feel isolated and detached from reality so if you can find a good counselor I think that will help you a lot to hope.
