Feeling a little low.

Just feeling a little low today as it's a year today since my Dad died. My Mum also died last year. I think it's just normal grief coming through. I have a candle alight for him today. Just wanted to share as I didn't want to declare to all on Facebook!!!

Hi Jeffju,

Sorry to hear that. Yes anniversaries of loved ones bring memories flooding back and are bound to make you feel sad and low.

Thinking of you at this time.

Sending you a hug.

Thanks. Had a look through some photos and that kind of bucked me up. xx And a brandy too. xx

quite natural to feel/remember the sadness but hope you managed to recall some happy memories as well - sounds as if the photos may have helped.

Yes I think they did. I bought them home a year ago after Dad's funeral and have only just wanted to look at them. And they bought back good memories. Thanks.

Hi Jeffju I can totally relate to your post. I lost my dad coming up to 5 years now. I lost my mum in June this year. My sister and I lit a candle for her (and him) in our local church in June. I am still grieving and you are as well. My mum had a lovely painting I really admired so when she died I asked the family if it was ok for me to have it. They agreed straightaway - but you know what? I can't yet bring myself to hang it up yet! I don't feel it's really mine and I think I am a bit still in denial over my mum's death. Isn't it hard? But you have to go through the grieving process to come out the other side. You will and so will I. Keep trucking.

Thanks so much for that. Yes, it's all part of the grieving process. You think you are ok and then bam! something comes along again. But most of the time I can look back and smile. We wilol get there. Thanks for your support. xx Julie xx

i too can relate to how you are feeling as I lost my twin sis in 2004, theres not a day goes by that something doesn't remind me of her, even the trivial things that mean nothing to somebody else. my sis loved those "pocket dragons" so we have one to hang on the best spot on our Christmas tree, and I now have photos up of her as it was too painful at first. sending you a hug x
