Manual/Electric

My son normally uses a manual tooth brush (when he does brush!) and recently he used an electric brush and he spat out blood. Is this simply because the manual brushing is less effective than using a electric brush? Plus he has bad breath.

An elecrtic toothbrush isn't necessarily more efficient at brushing vs manual, if you can use a manual brush correctly.

Tell him to continue brushing 2x a day (PM and one other time of day) for 2 minutes, don't be put off by the bleeding (sign of gum inflammation, probably gingivitis) - to make it stop, your son needs to brush his teeth very well and it will resolve on it's own.

Nothing serious, lot's of adolecents are bad at brushing teeth.

Thank you for the reply. Sadly his bleeding is being used against me in court to take him away from me.
