What to do when denosumab course ends?
I have been on
denosumab
injections since July 2019, so the injection that I am to have next month will probably be my last. During this time I have not had a Dexa scan at all.

Thoughts on Denosumab in my case
The extreme potential side effects of
Denosumab
are unsettling. PC is locally advanced (seminal vessels) but negative PSMA Pet Scan for spread.

FDA alert re: denosumab
This was issued specifically re: Prolia, with no mention of Xgeva. However patients should be alerted, and of course don't change your medications without first speaking to your doctor about this. https://www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/fda-adds-boxed-warning-increased-risk-severe-hypocalcemia-patients-advanced-chronic-kidney-disease

Melatonin and bone loss / PCa
This next article is long and dense: https://erc.bioscientifica.com/view/journals/erc/30/9/ERC-22-0360.xml I also wonder if melatonin is synergistic with Prolia/
denosumab
or if it is if no net improvement.

Topical steroid & osteoporosis
I am having 6 monthly injections of
denosumab
. I also have chronic ulcers on feet which are being looked after by tissue viability. I have just finished a 2 week course of a strong topical steroid cream with this week off.

Is it really necessary to take Alendronic Acid with these results?
Discuss with Rheumatology in all cases after a repeat DEXA scan to assess bone density before stopping

PSA in lower range, yet PSMA PET SCAN shows diffuse bone Metastasis
He has also been put on
Denosumab
, and given the second shot few days back. How is condition is like, in terms of survival , prognosis and what else can we consider, as he is not fit for chemotherapy.

Osteoporosis - treatment or not ??
I think it would be helpful to add in Vitamin D 2000IU daily to your treatment and also
Denosumab
60mg sub-cut six monthly. Your GP will be able to do this treatment for you. I have chosen this rather than a bisphosphonate, given your gastroesophageal reflux."

Prolio SE
Two questions: 1) The SE are VERY SCARY when I read this: https://www.drugs.com/comments/
denosumab
/prolia.html But, then again, uneventful outcome folks are not likely to post. Sooo... what has been your SE experience? 2) Never had a subcutaneous shot so what's that like? Mel

Cabazitaxel and estrogen patch
Denosumab
and Zoledronic acid don't work for him. I suggested an Estrogen patch to both maintain bone density and ameliorate hot flashes. His oncologist said that an Estrogen patch would interfere with the Cabazitaxel. I can't find any literature in the subject.

PMR Review with GP
Could it be
Denosumab
? I need to follow up and check what it was. It might be on my notes. I made it clear that I wouldn't have anything that might prevent me from having dental treatment and that I had never had a DEXA scan.

Risedronate Sodium v Denosumab (Prolia)
I have read that if you stop taking prolia, you can get rebound effects. Is this also true with Risedronate ? I am still in a deliberating which to take (if any) Thanks
